Proudly Serving Harrisonburg, VA

If you’re in the market for a reliable SUV that can perform exceptionally well on and off the road, then look no further than the award-winning Subaru Forester. While both the 2018 and 2019 Subaru Forester are great choices, there are some big differences between the two that may make customers go with one over the other. Some major changes in the 2019 Forester include more cargo space, improved fuel economy, and a redesigned interior and exterior. For drivers that want to stick with the 2018 Forester, you can rest assured that you are making a great purchase; this SUV received a 2018 IIHS Top Safety Pick award when equipped with EyeSight; and Steering Responsive Headlights, a 2018 ALG Residual Value Award, and IHS Markit award for 97% of Subaru Forester vehicles solid in the last 10 years still being on the road today.

Redesigned Interior and Exterior

For 2019, the Forester got some dramatic revisions for the front end, with the previously rectangular grill now being more rounded, sharing some similarities with the new Subaru Ascent. The headlights are also now larger and less angular than in previous models and new and larger fog lights give the 2019 Forester a more aggressive look. The biggest change in the rear of the vehicle can be seen in the taillights, which are larger and more angular than the square-shaped units in the 2018 models. The side profile of the vehicle remains very similar to previous models, but new models gain silver plastic cladding below the door sills, chrome door handles, side mirrors, and new wheels. Step inside the 2019 Forester and you will notice a variety of leather options as well as new features for the Forester including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Buyers can also choose between the standard 6.5-inch infotainment system or a larger 8-inch infotainment system. New 2019 models provide more interior space at up to 111.9 cubic feet of passenger volume and up to 76.1 cubic feet of cargo space with 60/40 split-folding rear seats.

Performance and Features

The 2019 Subaru Forester is equipped with an updated Subaru Boxer Engine that puts out 182 horsepower, start-stop functionality, and provides up to 33 highway miles per gallon. Subaru also introduces the all-new sport model, which will showcase elements on its sleek exterior along with many upgrades inside. It will feature unique 18-inch wheels, exclusive LED lighting, and roof rack tie-down points for more versatility. It will also feature Sport-specific tuning for SI-Drive and dual-function X-Mode, making it ready for nearly all driving conditions. Standard in 2019 models is EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, which monitors traffic movement, optimizes cruise control, and warns the driver when swaying outside your lane. Available Pre-Collision Braking can apply full braking force in emergency situations. Standard in every 2018 and 2019 Subaru Forester is the legendary Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system, which creates uniform stability and provides optimal distribution of power to each wheel for maximum traction. It allows for improved handling, efficiency, and a more robust response to challenging road conditions.
