2025 Subaru Crosstrek vs 2025 Subaru Outback

Serving Harrisonburg, VA

The Subaru lineup is recognized for utility, style, and modern features, and the brand’s reputation is strongly supported by the compact Crosstrek crossover SUV and the wagon-like Outback. Our associates at Bob Wade Subaru are standing by to help you compare your options and select a new Subaru that accommodates all of your needs and expectations.

Performance

The entry-level Crosstrek trim has a 152-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. The remaining four trims for the 2025 model year are equipped with an 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder unit. Every Crosstrek has all-wheel drive and a continuously variable transmission. The off-road-ready Wilderness has a raised suspension system.

The Subaru Outback is a larger model that is offered in your choice of nine trim levels. The first five trim levels have the same 182-horsepower engine that is offered in the Crosstrek. The remaining trims have a 260-horsepower, turbo 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. Like the Crosstrek, all of the Outback’s trims have a CVT and standard all-wheel drive.

Appearance

Strong slopes across the roof line and hood establish the 2025 Crosstrek's sporty look. Over the sides, you will find well-defined, sharp-cornered fenders with thick molding. The front end displays a molded bumper that also holds circular fog lights. The grille has an undulating mesh pattern, which links to the angled, sharp-pointed LED headlights.

The Outback is differentiated with a long hood and modest angles across the profile. Over the sides, you will find dark, sharp molding over the fenders that sit flush with the sides. The molding on the Outback’s bumper holds circular fog lamps and reaches up to support the innovative LED headlights. The Outback’s grille features a staggered, linear mesh design.

Features

A few of the many features available in the Subaru Crosstrek are a Harman Kardon sound system, StarTex or leather upholstery, evasive steering assistance, a sunroof, a navigation system, heated front seats, rear auto braking, an 11.6-inch touch display screen, Starlink connected services, wireless connections for smartphone apps, a push-button ignition and others.

The Outback offers all of these features as well as a digital rear mirror, a front-view camera, driver’s memory controls, a heated steering wheel, heated rear seats, a driver attention warning, and a few additional features.
