What's New for the 2025 Subaru Ascent?
The 2025 Subaru Ascent is a smart option for SUV shoppers who need a third row of seating. This midsize crossover SUV was introduced to consumers in 2019 and will continue in its first generation in 2025. Before selecting your new SUV, explore several mid-generation updates.
In 2025, the Ascent Base will no longer be available, so the entry-level trim is now the Premium. In addition to this change, Subaru introduces the Bronze Edition and Onyx Edition Touring trim levels to the mix. Now, the trim lineup from the base option up includes the Premium, the Onyx Edition, the Limited, the Bronze Edition, the Touring, and the Onyx Edition Touring.
Every 2025 Ascent continues to offer the same powertrain and performance capabilities as the 2024 version. The engine is a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter turbo unit that produces 260 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque. A continuously variable auto transmission accompanies this engine. Every Ascent has standard all-wheel drive.
The exterior of the Ascent is remarkably designed, with a bold front end and crisp definition flowing across the sides. The nose shows off a tall grille with a thick crossbar that holds the brand's emblem. Tall, thick air inlets angle inward, and an LED bar outlines the bulb-style headlights on three sides. The sides have upper and lower accent lines. They also show off a thick, black accent on the lower door panel and uniquely flared fenders.
The all-new Bronze Edition includes bronze trim on the interior and exterior. The badging and 20-inch alloy wheels also have a bronze finish. The exterior mirror caps are black. The Onyx Edition Touring is equipped with black leather seats and silver accent stitching, as well as black trim on the interior and exterior. The 20-inch wheels, grille, and roof spoiler also have a black finish.
The Subaru Ascent is well-appointed with features like a household power outlet, ambient lighting, a 180-degree front parking camera, a three-zone climate control system, USB ports, an 11.6-inch infotainment system screen, heated seats, wireless smartphone app connections, adaptive cruise control, a panoramic sunroof, a heated steering wheel, a power liftgate, driver's memory settings, and many additional features.
