Performance

The Outback's trim level lineup is unchanged for 2025. The options are the base, Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited, Touring, Onyx Edition XT, Wilderness, Limited XT and Touring XT. The base powertrain, which is standard in most trims, is unchanged. This is a 182-horsepower, 2.5-liter, four-cylinder unit. In 2025, the more powerful engine will be an option for the Limited trim level. It continues to be standard in the Wilderness and XT trims. This is a 260-horsepower, turbo 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine. Both engines continue to come with a CVT and all-wheel drive.

Appearance

The Outback's recognized design is unchanged between the 2024 and 2025 versions. This crossover is defined by a smoothly flowing, tapered profile and aggressive molding over the wheel wells and front end. The grille tapers to sharp points on the sides and has a staggered, honeycomb-like mesh. The molding swells over the circular fog lights and underneath the LED headlights.

Features

The primary updates to the Outback's feature available are introduced with the Limited trim. This trim now has an 11.6-inch infotainment system screen, a navigation system, a heated steering wheel, a power sunroof, and a driver attention monitor. Other features available in select or all trims for both years are adaptive cruise control, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, heated seats, a hands-free power liftgate, keyless entry, a Harman Kardon sound system, and numerous others.
