Subaru Electric FAQs

Subaru Solterra EV Charging

At Bob Wade Subaru, we are thrilled to announce the debut of the 2023 Solterra. This electric crossover SUV has a bold personality and exciting capabilities. Unlike our other models with combustion engines, the Solterra pulls its torque and horsepower from a battery-powered motor. In the process, it delivers an elevated driving experience for you to enjoy. All-electric vehicles are new to many of our customers, so we have answered a few frequently asked questions to help with your research.

What benefits come with driving an electric vehicle?

Your electric vehicle will not need fossil fuels to run. This means avoiding expensive and inconvenient trips to the gas station. Instead, you can easily recharge your Subaru’s battery at home. Because fossil fuels are not used, unhealthy emissions are not produced. Electric vehicles operate quietly and generate torque quickly, so they may be more enjoyable to drive for many people. Generally, electric vehicles require less maintenance than cars with combustion engines.

How do you charge your Subaru EV at home?

Your Subaru EV comes with a 120-volt charger, which can be plugged into a power outlet in your garage. Some of our customers prefer to upgrade to a 240-volt home charger for faster charging. This option requires professional installation.

How do you charge your EV on the road?

With a 220-mile range, the Solterra may take you everywhere you need to go for your day’s plans, and you can recharge the battery once you return home. However, if you have longer journeys in mind, you may be pleased to learn that 38,000 public charging stations are located in strategic places across the country. The 240-volt charging stations can give your Subaru EV an 80-percent charge in an hour with a DC charging cable.

Are there incentives for buying an EV?

You may qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 when purchasing a Subaru EV. In addition to this lucrative incentive, some employers and states offer their incentives and credits.
