Subaru Electric FAQs

At Bob Wade Subaru, we are thrilled to offer the all-electric Subaru Solterra. This electric crossover SUV boasts a bold personality and exciting capabilities. Unlike our other models with combustion engines, the Solterra draws its torque and horsepower from a battery-powered motor, providing an elevated driving experience. Since all-electric vehicles are new to many of our customers, we've answered a few frequently asked questions to assist with your research.
What benefits come with driving an electric vehicle?
Your electric vehicle will not need gas to run, which means you can avoid expensive and inconvenient trips to the gas station. Instead, you can easily recharge your Subaru's battery at home. Without using fossil fuels, EVs produce no unhealthy emissions. They operate quietly and generate torque quickly, making them enjoyable to drive. Generally, electric vehicles require less maintenance than cars with combustion engines.
How do you charge your Subaru EV at home?
Your Subaru EV comes with a 120-volt charger that can be plugged into a power outlet in your garage. Some customers prefer to upgrade to a 240-volt home charger for faster charging, which requires professional installation.
How do you charge your EV on the road?
With a 220-mile range, the Solterra can handle most daily driving needs, and you can recharge the battery once you return home. For longer journeys, you can use one of the 38,000 public charging stations strategically located across the country. These 240-volt charging stations can give your Subaru EV an 80-percent charge in an hour with a DC fast charger.
Are there incentives for buying an EV?
You may qualify for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500 when purchasing a Subaru EV. In addition to this incentive, some employers and states offer their own incentives and credits.
