 What's New for the 2024 Subaru Solterra?

The Subaru Solterra is only in its second year in 2024, and this all-electric SUV continues to stand out for all of the right reasons. While it retains its bold style, many other aspects have been fine-tuned. The improvements begin inside the cabin with the reshaped steering wheel. The steering wheel now has an oval and slightly squared-off shape to enhance the driver's visibility of the digital gauges. It also comes with paddle shifters to enhance the driver's control of the regenerative braking functions.

Several safety technologies are new for the 2024 model year. These are hands-free low-speed driving, auto lane changing, and intersection collision sensing. The many other safety technologies offered in 2023 continue to be available, including semi-automated parking, forward collision mitigation, rear cross-traffic assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, and emergency steering assistance.

The all-electric Solterra runs on two electric motors and one powerful battery. This is a 215-horsepower system with all-wheel drive. In 2024, Solterra will introduce a revamped battery warming system. With this system, the battery can recharge to 80% in 80 minutes in sub-freezing temperatures and in 35 minutes in normal conditions.

The Solterra's exterior now has stronger roof rails that can hold 700 pounds of gear. The design is untouched. It continues to have a sporty yet edgy look with sharply raked front and rear windows and a flat roof. The thick molding over the fenders is squared off. At the front, this molding wraps around the bumper and expands partially around the LED-outlined headlights.

The many other appealing features introduced in the 2023 Solterra are also offered in the 2024 version. Some of the SUV's available features are an integrated navigation system, a surround-view camera, a 12.3-inch infotainment system screen, a digital rearview mirror, ambient cabin lights, remote vehicle control, simulated leather upholstery, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless device charging station, a heated steering wheel, driver's side memory settings, a Harman Kardon audio system and heated seats in both rows.
