Subaru is a Japanese automobile manufacturer that was founded in July 1953. The mid-size Subaru Legacy has been manufactured since 1989, and is currently in its sixth generation since 2014. This vehicle is available as a 4-door sedan with a front engine and variable assist 4-wheel drive. So what's new for the 2018 Subaru Legacy? The Legacy received a light redesign for 2018. It now has an updated lower grille opening with horizontal lines passing through the middle and the Subaru logo. It also has responsive LED headlamps that turn when the steering wheel turns. The bumpers have also been updated, and the side mirrors are now more aerodynamic. Two new colors are the lovely Magnetite Gray Metallic and the jazzy Crimson Red Pearl. A new interior design along with new tech features enhances the Legacy’s reputation for efficiency, safety, and resale value. There is a new design for the steering wheel that makes the car seem sportier. The StarLink infotainment system that comes with a touch-screen has been updated to make it easier to navigate the menu options. You will also find Bluetooth connectivity along with the Apple CarPlay program with the Android Auto app.

What’s New for the 2018 Subaru Legacy with regards to performance and safety? There are 2 engines available that are both paired to a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that sends power to all-wheel drive. The CVT was reworked for a smoother and more responsive acceleration. The 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine can develop 175 hp with torque of 174 lb-ft. The 3.6-liter 6-cylinder engine makes 256 hp with torque of 247 lb-ft. New safety features include the aforementioned "Steering Responsive Headlights" that makes the headlights turn when the steering wheel turns. The headlights are also automatic so that they turn the high beams on and off depending on whether or not vehicles are approaching. New reverse automatic braking can detect objects in the way when backing up. This feature can produce both audible and visual warnings to the driver. Subaru has an advanced safety suite called the EyeSight system. It has sensors and cameras that deliver pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, lane departure warnings, and much more.
