2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness vs 2024 Subaru Outback Touring XT

Serving Harrisonburg, VA

The 2024 Subaru Outback is well-suited for those with an adventurous lifestyle as well as for those looking for a capable, well-equipped crossover. This midsize crossover is styled with wagon-like features and is available in nine trim levels this year. The Wilderness trim level is designed to go off-road. The top-of-the-line trim level is the Touring XT. What are the key differences between these trim levels?

Performance

The Subaru Outback Wilderness and the Outback Touring XT stand apart from most of the other trim levels with their more robust performance capabilities. These trim levels are equipped with a four-cylinder, 2.4-liter turbo engine. All Outback trims have all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission. The Wilderness also has a front skid plate, a lifted suspension, all-terrain tires, and a low-ratio setting for its AWD system.

Appearance

While the 2024 Subaru Outback has functional ground clearance, it has a dramatically angled roof and a long nose to create a wagon-like look. The sides are impressively designed, with a crease running across the upper panels and a swell of dark molding over the lower panels. The fenders are also accented by expanded molding. The molding also rises up to link to the headlights and runs across the front bumper. On the bumper, it holds round fog lamps. The grille has a sharp design with undulating linear mesh and a solid chrome crossbar with the blue logo. The sleek headlights show off two bulbs and an upper LED ribbon that trends underneath the bulbs. The Touring XT features a sunroof, 18-inch wheels, a hands-free liftgate, a windshield de-icer, roof rails, and heated and power-folding side mirrors. The Wilderness adds 17-inch wheels, black badging, and an upgraded roof rack.

Features

Both of these Outback trim levels are available with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a front collision warning system, a front-view camera, a digital rear mirror, a navigation system, a heated steering wheel, rear auto braking, driver's memory settings, heated front and rear seats, a Harman Kardon sound system and others. The Wilderness adds water-repellent upholstery and more speakers to the sound system. The Touring XT comes with premium leather upholstery.
