Performance

The five trims offered for the 2023 Crosstrek have great capabilities from two available engines. The lower two trims benefit from 152 horsepower produced by a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter engine. There is also an upgraded version of this powertrain that gives you 182 horsepower. A Crosstrek Hybrid is also available, with a combined output of 148 horsepower. In comparison, a single powertrain is offered for the 2023 Forester. This is the same 182-horsepower engine that is offered with the Crosstrek.

Appearance

There are clear differences in styling between the 2023 Crosstrek and the 2023 Forester. The Crosstrek has solid ground clearance with a lowered, tapered roof. A small, crest-like grille is dressed up with a metallic bar, and a similar bar rolls through the lower fascia and bends through the foglight portals. The model is also defined by an H-shaped LED element in the prominent headlights and angled definition on the side doors. The 2023 Subaru Forester is a taller crossover with thicker molding across the sides, wheel wells, and nose. The Forester's grille is taller and has a unique mesh design. The headlights show off a diamond-like quality with a three-sided LED light ribbon.
