Performance

Two powertrains are available for the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek. The first two trims have a 152-horsepower, 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine. This engine is available with a six-speed manual transmission. The top trims draw 182 horsepower from a 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine. It is paired with a continuously variable transmission. All-wheel drive is standard for both the Crosstrek and the Outback. The Outback has two powertrains as well. The lower trims have the same 182-horsepower engine and transmission as in the Crosstrek. The higher-level trims receive 260 horsepower from a turbo 2.4-liter, four-cylinder engine with the same CVT.

Appearance

The 2022 Subaru Crosstrek has sleek styling with a strong angle through the windshield, a rounded nose, and confident curves through the profile. The sides are accented by two angled personality lines and geometric molding over the fenders. Flared, multi-elemental headlights accompany the signature Subaru grille on the nose. Roof rails, foglights, and a power liftgate are offered on the Crosstrek. The 2022 Outback is a larger model with a more upright stance. However, it also has an aerodynamic flow with a signature Subaru grille and prominent molding throughout most of the lower perimeter of the vehicle. The headlights are larger and tapered. The nose also features a stack of LED fog lamps and a skid plate. Like the Crosstrek, the Outback has roof rails and a power liftgate.
