Toyota equips the Corolla with a less potent four-cylinder engine, which develops 132 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. There’s no overlooking the WRX’s much stronger acceleration. A sport-tuned suspension and standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive also aid the WRX’s track-worthy handling. You can’t get the Corolla with an AWD system.

Interior and Features

Both of these compact sedans rank high in the comfort department. Like the Subaru WRX, the Toyota Corolla seats up to five passengers. However, driving enthusiasts will appreciate the WRX’s more exciting cockpit. A flat-bottom steering wheel and performance gauges help to inspire drivers. Recaro sport seats are optional. There’s also a higher number of premium features inside the new WRX. While the Corolla comes standard with a touchscreen interface, it does not provide Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Meanwhile, Subaru’s Starlink Multimedia interface comes standard with these smartphone integration technologies. Standard satellite radio and automatic climate control make the WRX even more rewarding.
