2015 Subaru Forester

The Subaru Forester has a much larger panoramic moonroof and offers a six-speed manual transmission not available on the Outback. The Forester also offers an exceptionally peppy 2.0L turbo-4 with high torque Lineartronic CVT. Critics note that the Forester delivers the smoothest ride among all of its competitors. 

2015 Subaru Outback

The 2015 Outback impresses drivers with its smooth, European-type ride and handling. Outback has a longer wheelbase that helps to suppress bumps and road imperfections. The Subaru Outback is two inches wider and eight inches longer, allowing it to hold a pair of bicycles a little more gracefully than does the Forester. The 2015 Outback offers more inside space for those who need it. If you need to tow a sailboat, you'll prefer the Outback's 2,700-lb. towing capacity to the Forester's 1,500-lbs. While both vehicles offer the Eyesight System of safety features, Outback has received some upgrades to Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot -- these upgrades will appear in the 2017 Forester.
