When it comes to high performance sports cars, both the 2015 Subaru BRZ premium and the 2015 Subaru WRX Premium are both great options. While the Subaru WRX premium comes with standard all-wheel drive, the Subaru BRZ Premium is available in rear-wheel drive. Each vehicle is equipped with Subaru's 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER® 4-cylinder engine, which in the BRZ provides 200 horsepower vs 268 horsepower in the WRX Premium. Similarities and Differences

When it comes down to deciding between these two vehicles, space and seating are big differences. While the BRZ does provide room for four individuals, the WRX provides plenty of room for five. While the BRZ and WRX provide about the same amount of front headroom, the WRX provides more rear headroom as well as leg room than the BRZ. The BRZ Premium provides 29.9 inches of rear legroom whereas the WRX provides 35.4 inches of rear legroom. Another area in which the two sports cars differ is their transmissions. While the Subaru BRZ and WRX are available with standard 6-speed manual transmissions with Overdrive, the Subaru WRX is available with an 8-speed continuously variable electronically controlled manually interactive automatic transmission with overdrive. This transmission choice is not available in the BRZ.  

The 2015 Subaru BRZ

The 2015 Subaru BRZ is a coupe with four available seats. The BRZ premium puts out 200 horsepower and 151 lb-ft of torque while providing 22 city miles per gallon and 30 highway miles per gallon. Leather seating is standard on the Limited models, and an available automatic transmission is available on the Limited model as well, but not the premium. Keyless access and start with touch-activated door unlock and push-button engine start functions are standard on the Limited as well. Each BRZ is equipped with power side mirrors, leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel with integrated cruise controls, tilt and telescoping steering column, and voice-activated GPS navigation system which uses a 6.1 inch high resolution touch-screen with an 8-speaker audio system with USB port/iPod® control, SiriusXM® satellite radio, as well as SMS text message capability.

The 2015 Subaru WRX

The 2015 Subaru WRX is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged SUBARU BOXER® engine that puts out 268 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the WRX STI or WRX STI Limited and you will be treated to a 2.5-liter DOHC turbocharged engine that puts out 305 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque. Standard features include power front and rear windows with driver's up/down, power side mirrors, electronic cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering column, automatic climate control, dual-zone automatic climate control system, and 6-speaker HD Radio® audio system with USB port/iPod® control, Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free phone connectivity, and voice-activated GPS navigation system.
