 What's New for the 2025 Subaru WRX?

For drivers who expect a thrilling performance from a four-door sedan, the 2025 Subaru WRX is the perfect option. This model's fifth generation debuted in 2022, and an important mid-generation update is introduced in the 2025 model year. Specifically, the WRX TR trim level that was available in 2024 has been replaced by the WRX tS. The trim name stands for tuned by STI. The tS is now the top-of-the-line trim level.

All 2025 Subaru WRX trims come with a horizontally-opposed four-cylinder, turbo 2.4-liter engine. This system delivers 271 horsepower with 258 pound-feet of torque. Standard equipment for most trims includes all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. However, the GT's standard transmission is a CVT. The CVT is also optional on the GT. The new WRX tS adds an upgraded suspension system, STI-tuned steering, special drive modes and enhanced braking.

On the exterior, the 2025 Subaru WRX tS stands out with several trim-specific enhancements as well as 19-inch wheels, a shark-fin antenna, and gold-colored calipers. Otherwise, the design is comparable to the 2024 version. The WRX has a powerful look with a fastback profile and well-defined rear haunches. Rocker panels and a fascinating wheel design add character from the side view. At the front, the 2025 WRX has a compact variation of Subaru's signature, hexagon-like grille. The sharp headlights are styled with an upper LED bar and a thicker LED bar on the outer sides. The bumper is dramatically molded for a powerful touch.

If you select the all-new 2024 Subaru WRX tS, your car will have a red STI starter button, special Recaro leather seats, a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel, and blue trim. Additional features available for some or all lower trim levels include a navigation system, a blind-spot warning system, a sunroof, synthetic leather seats, rear auto braking, keyless entry, heated front seats, dual 7-inch or one 11.6-inch central display screen, Starlink, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, lane departure mitigation, forward collision mitigation, evasive steering assist, adaptive cruise control, and more.
