 What's New for the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek?
Many exciting changes are happening for the Crosstrek in 2020. The Limited trim level is getting LED fog lamps and charging USB ports for the backseat. These ports are now standard for the Hybrid trim as well. Newly standard equipment for all models includes automatic climate control and a system that automatically unlocks the vehicle's doors in the event of a collision.
Subaru's Intelligent Drive is also standard on all models of the 2020 Subaru Crosstrek, which gives you three choices regarding drive modes. They are sport mode, intelligent mode, and sport-sharp mode. Drivers can choose the mode which best reflects the current road conditions as well as their personal preferences. An intelligent mode is excellent for cruising through town and for long drives. This is the most fuel-efficient of the modes. Sport mode is good for highway driving and gives drivers the most acceleration. Sport-sharp mode, on the other hand, has the most power. It can be particularly useful for merging.
There are a few newly available options for the Premium trim level, as well. Drivers can add both push-button start and keyless entry now. Also available is a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat. The final noteworthy change for 2020 is the addition of an automatic stop-and-start system for any Crosstrek that has the continuously variable transmission.
As before, the gas-powered versions of the Crosstrek have a 2.0L four-cylinder that produces 152-horsepower. For the 2.0i and 2.0i Premium models, a six-speed manual transmission is standard. Optional on those trims and standard on the Limited is the CVT. There is also a plug-in hybrid version of the Crosstrek. It has an EPA estimate of 90 MPGe combined.
